CMU 15-112: Fundamentals of Programming and Computer Science
Check5: Due in Autolab by 10am Tue 14-Feb
- Please read all the directions carefully before starting!
- This check should take 1-2 hours to complete. Please do not
hurry through this.
- This check should be completed collaboratively. This week,
however, you may watch the videos solo if you wish, and then only meet
to discuss each other's questions. The group meeting must be for at
least 30 minutes in any case,
and brimming with high-quality, thoughtful, introspective,
learning-filled discussion.
- If you need group members, please fill out this form.
-
That said, you may work solo if you have special circumstances,
such as if you are traveling this weekend. Note that simply
not wanting to work in a group is not a special reason to work solo.
All special reasons for solo work on this check must be
pre-approved in email from an instructor.
- To start:
- First, if you have not done so already, please take a brief moment to fill out this
week4 time report. We very much need and value your thoughtful and
accurate feedback. Thanks!
- Download the file check5.txt
- Be sure to track your time as you go, and to answer the questions
in the check5.txt file as you go rather than after watching
all the videos. Edit the check5.txt file directly, as you will submit that file when you are done.
- Carefully watch all the videos in these notes:
- 2d Lists (not including the Worked Examples, which we will review in lecture)
- This week, you will again write your own questions and then answer them
in check5.txt. Your group should come up with at least one good, thoughtful question per video, making your
questions similar in spirit to the questions we have provided in
previous checks. While you may share the same questions
across your group (but not between groups -- each group writes
their own questions),
and you should definitely discuss the question together, you each
must write your own answers to each question, just as with
previous checks. No copying!
- When you are done, upload your completed check5.txt file to Autolab. Be sure to click on "check5", and
be sure to submit this before Tuesday at 10am. No late
submissions will be accepted.
